Aloo Muri

Aloo muri is a popular street food that is very popular in West Bengal, Orissa, and Bangladesh. Though it originated in the region of Bengal it is enjoyed across India. Jhal means spicy and muri are puffed rice. Jhal muri is a spicy puffed rice snack that is loved by all.

Step 1

Take a bowl and add the boiled and cubed potatoes. Add in the puffed rice.

Step 2

To that, add roasted cumin powder, coriander leaves, chopped onion, green chilli powder, and red chilli powder.

Step 3

Add the lemon juice, nylon sev or bhujia (gram flour noodle snack), and salt to taste.

Step 4

To this, add 1-2 teaspoons of mustard oil and 2-3 drops of water.

Step 5

Combine well all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Aloo muri are ready to serve. It serves as a good evening snack.

1 Tsp Red chilli powder
1 Onion, chopped finely
2 Green chillies
Coriander leaves, handful chopped
2 Tsp Roasted Cumin powder
2 Potatoes, boiled peeled and cubed
A handful of Nylon sev (Gram flour noodle snacks)
2 Tsp Mustard oil
Salt – to taste
